EDOTCO Partners with FloSolar to Assess Renewable Energy Feasibility

EDOTCO Bangladesh, a prominent digital infrastructure provider in the country, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FloSolar Solutions Limited to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a grid-connected renewable energy generation system. This strategic joint initiative aims to significantly expand clean energy adoption across telecom tower operations, reduce dependence on conventional energy sources, and scale down carbon emissions. Under the agreement, FloSolar will manage site selection, grid connectivity, and project development, while EDOTCO will identify locations and assess power demand.

The proposed initiative operates on an asset-light framework where EDOTCO requires no upfront capital investment for power generation infrastructure. FloSolar will oversee full project development and financing, enabling EDOTCO to secure predictable, long-term renewable power subject to commercial and regulatory approvals. Preliminary estimates indicate that a 100 MWp solar facility could produce roughly 130 GWh of clean electricity annually, potentially offsetting up to 80,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year depending on final operational specifications and displacement metrics.

Emphasizing the project’s strategic importance, Al-Batooni Muhammad Syed Ahmed, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh, noted that as digital infrastructure expands, how these assets are powered becomes increasingly critical. He said assessing large-scale renewable energy integration accelerates carbon reduction while improving the long-term sustainability of tower operations, adding that future connectivity must be both reliable and sustainable.

Highlighting the operational demand for clean energy, Mustafa Azim Kasem Khan, Founder and Managing Director of FloSolar Solutions Limited, pointed out that telecommunication networks operate around the clock, making uninterrupted power supply vital. He explained that the MoU provides a structured framework to gradually deliver clean, long-term power to the network, with the immediate milestone being executing a viable initial project.
