Israeli cleric says 'Idolaters don't have the right to live'
Israeli Rabbi Says Jews Should Side with Pakistan If War Breaks Out with India

India and Israel have enjoyed very strong strategic, diplomatic and cultural ties over the past few decades, especially under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But recently, Israeli-American Rabbi Yousef Mizrahi has thrown the relationship into a difficult question. The Jewish cleric has claimed that if there is a war between India and Pakistan, Jews should support Pakistan instead of India.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Rabbi Mizrahi can be heard making explosive remarks against India and Hinduism. He argues that according to the Jewish scriptures, the believers should side with the one God by rejecting idolaters.
In a lecture on “Elections and Current Events” delivered on November 3, he cited the Torah and other Jewish scriptures and claimed that idolaters do not have the right to live and that Jews should side with Pakistan. He acknowledged that Israel has hostile relations with Pakistan, but any political or strategic alliance should be secondary to the interests of religion.
“If the Jews have to choose between India and Pakistan, they should side with Pakistan,” he said. This is not because Pakistan supports Israel, but because of the religious principle difference between idolatry versus pure monotheism.
Mizrahi’s remarks came at a time when Israel is under international pressure on the world stage due to the Gaza war and India has maintained its support. In this context, his statement has sparked outrage among Indian Hindutva netizens.
Many Indian users pointed to India’s friendly relations with Israel and questioned, “What kind of friendship is this?”
This is not the first time that Rabbi Yousef Mizrahi has criticized and ridiculed the superstitions of Hinduism. Last month, he sparked a controversy by making derogatory remarks about Hindu religious beliefs and cow worship.
In the video, which has been circulating on social media, Mizrahi can be seen referring to an Indian Hindu man working on his Facebook page who expressed interest in converting to Judaism. While describing the man’s family and religious customs, Mizrahi ridiculed the controversial culture of cow service and reverence among the Hindus. After a video of his derogatory remarks went viral, there was a huge uproar in the international community, including India and Israel.
He claimed that some Hindu families allow cows to enter their bedrooms and they lick cow urine from the floor. Even in Indian pharmacies, cow urine is sold as medicine, he said in a tone of contempt, adding that doctors are among those who follow these rituals.
The most explosive part of his speech, along with the scene of cows sitting on the streets of Delhi and making fun of the traffic jams, was when he thanked God and said, “Thank God He didn’t make me like Indians.” ’
In his latest speech on November 3, he acknowledged Israel’s massive arms deal with India, intelligence sharing and economic ties, but stressed that religious principles should be above all forms of political friendship.
