Dinesh Trivedi Calls for Early Tarique Rahman Visit to India

Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman should visit India soon, stated by India High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi. Speaking at a dinner in Dhaka on Sunday, August 16, He said high-level meetings and dialogue were essential to resolving differences between the two countries. “I am very optimistic. The hearts of the people of Bangladesh and India are very close. Bangladesh and India not only share a border, they also have a common dream.”
He added, “We have differences of opinion, debates, arguments – this is normal. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are both leaders who are connected to the people. Their goals are also the same.” He said he believed direct talks between the two leaders could help resolve bilateral problems. He also expressed hope that communication and regular discussions between the two governments would make Bangladesh-India relations more dynamic.
