Colourful Jashan-e-Julus Held in Mirpur

Thousands of devotees joined a colourful procession in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Wednesday (August 26) to mark Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH). The procession began from the Shah Ali Mazar area in the morning, with the participation of Pir-Murshids, followers of Ahla Darbar Sharif and people from different professions. Organised by Anjuman-e-Asadiya Nooriya Sehabiya, the procession was led by Shah Sufi Syed Abrar Ibn Sehab Al-Qaderi Al-Chishti, Sajjadanshin of Ahla Darbar Sharif. Shahzada Shah Sufi Syed Hossain Raif Nurul Islam (Rubab) Maizbhandari also joined the event.

Since morning, devotees had gathered around Shah Ali Mazar to take part in the procession. Carrying banners and flags, participants marched through major roads in Mirpur, including areas around Mirpur-10 and Mirpur-12, chanting Naat and Durood. People of different ages, including children and teenagers, joined the procession. They expressed their love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and called for a society based on peace, humanity, harmony and justice.

The organisers said the event aimed to promote the Prophet’s (PBUH) life, ideals and teachings and encourage people to build a peaceful society by rejecting violence, hatred and division. The organisation has been arranging Jashan-e-Julus in Dhaka since 1990. It also conducts humanitarian activities, including voluntary blood donation, and has received an award from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society for its contribution to blood donation. Police were deployed along the procession route, while volunteers helped maintain discipline and ensure the event proceeded smoothly.
