Mecca Issues ‘Red Alert’ Amid Heavy Rainfall
A ‘Red Alert’ has been issued by the meteorological agency in anticipation of heavy rainfall in certain parts of the province of Makkah in Saudi Arabia. In a report published on Wednesday, 26, Anadolu Agency verified this information. Extremely severe weather conditions are anticipated in the area, according to a statement released by Saudi Civil Defense. The organization has advised locals to be extremely cautious, avoid dams, valleys, and flooded regions, and follow the authorities’ safety instructions.
The highest warning level given by the nation’s meteorological center is the red alert, which is issued when severe weather conditions require extreme caution. For the previous few days, Makkah province has seen erratic weather and different levels of rainfall. The relevant agency had already issued an early warning on August 21 for the provinces of Al-Ardiyat and Al-Kunfudhah due to the possibility of flash floods, hailstorms, thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall.
