All Bangladeshis living abroad are urged by the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia to strictly respect local laws, working rules, and cultural norms. The advisory, which was posted on the High Commission’s official Facebook page, provides important rules and regulations for protecting foreigners in the face of increased security and regulatory enforcement throughout a foreign nation. The advisory comes at a critical moment as the number of operations and arrests aimed at illegal foreign workers has sharply grown, increasing ongoing issues with high recruiting expenses and complicated legal documents.

The directive’s recommendations advise foreigners to use social media in a responsible manner to communicate positively with friends and family while confirming the accuracy of content before sharing it. Before publishing information about their companies or workplaces, employees must carefully read institutional norms and be on the lookout for phishing, fraud, and strange connections. On the other hand, posts on terrorism, extremism, banned groups, false news, hate speech, or questionable online fundraising are specifically banned from being shared, liked, or commented on. Additionally, it is highly forbidden for foreigners to make controversial or offensive remarks about worldwide geopolitical disputes, such as the tensions between Iran and Israel or Israel and Palestine, as this is against local regulations.

The serious legal consequences associated with online misbehavior and unauthorized political or digital campaigns within the host country are highlighted in the High Commission’s urgent recommendation. By defining these general behavioral norms, the goal is to reduce the legal vulnerabilities and difficulties that Malaysia’s foreign population often faces.
