President Urges BGB to Take Effective Measures to Stop Smuggling, Drugs, and Border Killings

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to take more action against drug trafficking, smuggling, push-ins, and border killings. At the same time, he praised the BGB for its excellent work in carrying out its crucial duty of border security. Yesterday, he called Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, the Director General of the BGB, for a courtesy meeting at Bangabhaban.

Journalists were informed on the subject by Md. Sarwar Alam, the President’s Press Secretary. The Director General of the BGB congratulated the President on taking office during the meeting. Additionally, he gave the President a briefing on the force’s overall operations and plans to use advanced drones and modern technological advances to improve border monitoring.

According to the President, smuggling, drug trafficking, and human trafficking are all made challenging by the BGB’s constant guard duty. At this time, the President praised the BGB’s efforts to use state-of-the-art technology for border security and promised them full cooperation in this area. Mr. Salahuddin Nagari, the President’s Secretary, and other high-ranking officials attended the meeting.
