K-Pop Star Lee Know Donates 100 Million Won for Flood Victims in Nepal
A member of the well-known South Korean K-pop group Stray Kids, Mr. Lee Know, has contributed 100 million won, or around $72,600 USD, to help those affected by Nepal’s catastrophic floods. World Vision, a humanitarian aid group, received a contribution from Mr. Lee Know on Friday. On Sunday, JYP Entertainment, his management company, confirmed the donation.
Mr. Lee Know asked that the money be used to help families and kids who are struggling in the aftermath of the floods. He stated, ‘I hope this support will provide a little bit of strength to those going through a difficult time,’ in a statement made official by JYP Entertainment.
In addition to the flood victims, Mr. Lee expressed his worry for the rescue and relief workers and shared his hope that they would soon restart their regular lives.
According to World Vision, Mr. Lee Know’s contribution will help provide the flood victims with necessities like food and temporary housing. The money will also be used to provide sanitary services and pure water. This aid will also go to people whose homes and means of livelihood were harmed by the floods.
Since 2014, Mr. Lee Know has sponsored children via World Vision, developing a long-standing partnership with the charity. The K-pop artist previously gave 100 million won to address the world food issue in 2024.
