After Riyadh, Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia Targeted in Attack

King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province was targeted in an attack on Sunday evening, according to the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). Concurrently, the Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting and destroying a drone over the region.
GACA stated that authorities are coordinating with relevant agencies to assess potential damage and verify safety and security across airport facilities.
According to officials, the incident is part of a series of systematic attacks aimed at civil aviation infrastructure across the kingdom.
In a statement released on X, coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Malki confirmed that air defense systems detected and neutralized the incoming drone in the Eastern Province, where Dammam is located.
The strike follows a heightened wave of attacks on Saudi airports, including recent strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Earlier on Sunday, Saudi authorities reported that an unidentified object struck Terminal 4 of Riyadh’s airport, sparking a fire and causing several injuries. Air defense forces also intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile near the facility.
