Chevron Interested in Investing in New Gas Field Exploration in Bangladesh

Prime Minister Mr. Tarique Rahman held discussions with a high level delegation from Chevron on increasing investment in Bangladesh’s energy sector. Increasing investment in the country’s old and existing gas fields, along with investment in exploring new gas fields, received particular importance in the meeting.

These matters were discussed on Sunday when a delegation led by Mr. Javier La Rosa, President of Chevron’s Base Assets and Emerging Countries, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the potential of Bangladesh’s energy sector and Chevron’s future investment plans. Views were exchanged on utilizing the production and potential of existing gas fields as well as on investment in exploring new gas fields.
