Delhi awaits Bangladesh PM’s India visit: Dinesh Trivedi

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi said New Delhi is waiting for Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to visit India.
Mr. Trivedi made the remarks after a courtesy meeting with Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain at the Secretariat on Thursday.
He also expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of nine Bangladeshi nationals in a hotel fire in Kolkata. He said the Indian government would take all necessary measures, including providing compensation and other assistance.
After the meeting, the health minister said it was purely a courtesy call. Asked whether the prime minister’s upcoming India visit was discussed, he said there had been no discussion on the matter. However, the Indian high commissioner said New Delhi is awaiting the Bangladesh prime minister’s visit.
