Discussion, Prayer Held in Trishal to Mark Kazi Nazrul Islam’s 50th Death Anniversary

A discussion and prayer programme was held in Trishal, Mymensingh, to mark the 50th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The event was organised by the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Memorial Centre at Namapara in Trishal on Wednesday afternoon.

Trishal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasnat Jahan Khan attended the programme as the chief guest. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Mahbubur Rahman and poet Akhtaruzzaman Shah, literature director of Trishal Sahitya O Sangskritik Sangsad, attended as special guests.

Md Fazlullah Romel, acting assistant director of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Memorial Centre, chaired the programme. A special prayer and munajat were held after the discussion, seeking forgiveness for the poet’s departed soul. Hamd and naat performances were also held during the programme.
