Government Will Not Resort to Crossfire to Curb Terrorism: Law Minister
Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman has said that the current government will not resort to crossfire to curb terrorism.
He made the statement at an exchange of views meeting with administrative officials and leaders of various political and social organisations at the conference room of the Khulna Deputy Commissioner’s Office at 11 am on Monday (September 14).
The law minister said the government would not resort to crossfire to curb terrorism. If necessary, existing laws would be further strengthened.
He also said drugs were being deliberately pushed into the country from a neighbouring country. Drug traffickers were making plans from across the border, and drugs were being delivered to various locations by drones. Drugs were no longer merely a problem for Khulna. Therefore, greater emphasis was being placed on drug tests across the country.
National Parliament Whip Rakibul Islam Bakul, members of parliament from various constituencies in Khulna, the divisional commissioner, the range DIG, the police superintendent, KCC and District Council administrators, and leaders of various political and social organisations were present at the meeting.
Various issues concerning law and order, public safety and curbing terrorism in Khulna were discussed.
