Govt Raises Village Police Salaries, Announces Monthly Mobile Allowance

The government has increased the salaries of village police members and will provide them with a monthly mobile allowance, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced on Saturday (November 7).
Speaking at a grand gathering of village police members, he said the decision would take effect immediately.
The monthly salary of village police members has been increased from Tk 7,000 to Tk 10,500, while the salary of village police chiefs has been raised from Tk 8,000 to Tk 11,000.
The government will also provide each village police member with Tk 150 per month as a mobile phone allowance.
Retirement benefits and travel allowances have also been increased.
