Gulshan Society Launches Tree Planting and Sapling Distribution Programme

Gulshan Society has launched a tree-planting and sapling distribution programme at Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed Park in Gulshan, Dhaka, in support of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s 250-million-tree plantation campaign and to promote environmental protection and urban greenery.

The programme was held on Saturday, August 8, with Gulshan Society President Barrister Omar Sadat, General Secretary Mujibur Rahman Mridha, executive committee members and society members in attendance.

Saplings of various forest, fruit and medicinal trees were distributed during the programme. Society members and local residents also took part in planting trees at different locations in the park.

Speakers said tree planting was essential to building a green, healthy and liveable city. They stressed collective efforts to maintain environmental balance, reduce air pollution and ensure a clean and safe environment for future generations.

Gulshan Society said it would continue such initiatives to protect the environment and increase greenery across the city.
