Hefazat congratulates new President Mirza Fakhrul
Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has congratulated former BNP secretary general and former minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as president.
In a statement on Friday, Hefazat Ameer Allama Muhibbullah Babunagari and Secretary General Allama Sajedur Rahman expressed hope that Mirza Fakhrul would uphold justice, fairness, public welfare and Islamic values while discharging his constitutional duties.
They also hoped he would protect the religious sentiments and rights of the Muslim majority and Islamic scholars, strengthen religious harmony and safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
The leaders wished the new president good health, long life and success.
