Iranian Minister Araghchi Meets Khalilur Rahman in New York
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has met with Dr. Khalilur Rahman, President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. They discussed various international and regional issues on the sidelines of the high-level session of the General Assembly in New York.
According to a report by Iran’s official news agency IRNA, the meeting featured an exchange of views on ongoing geopolitical crises, instability in the Middle East, and several unresolved international issues. Mr. Araghchi highlighted the importance of dialogue and multilateral diplomacy in resolving regional conflicts.
Iran’s diplomatic activities in New York have intensified surrounding the 81st UN General Assembly session. Mr. Araghchi has been holding a series of meetings with foreign ministers and top officials from various countries. Among these discussions, the exchange of messages with the United States regarding the Strait of Hormuz and regional security also came up.
On the other hand, Dr. Khalilur Rahman, in his capacity as President of the General Assembly, has been conducting a series of meetings with representatives of member states. Strengthening dialogue, mutual trust, and multilateral cooperation has been highlighted as one of the key priorities of his presidency.
Earlier, Dr. Khalilur Rahman also met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. That discussion emphasized strengthening the General Assembly as an effective and representative platform for international dialogue.
