July-August VAT Return Filing Deadline Extended

The National Revenue Board (NBR) has extended the deadline for submitting online VAT returns for the July-August period of the current fiscal year. According to the new decision, businesses can file their VAT returns without incurring any penalty until October 15. The information was disclosed in an official order issued by the NBR on Thursday.

It has been learned that under the revised VAT return provisions in the national budget, businesses are allowed to file returns after every three tax periods. Consequently, many institutions did not submit their returns for July and August. In light of this situation, the deadline for non-filing institutions has been extended to October 15, allowing them to submit their returns within the revised period without paying any fines.

The order further specifies that, where applicable, relevant entities must file their VAT returns for the three tax periods, July, August, and September, into the system by October 15.
