Modi Government Will Fall: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said the Modi government could fall if the opposition continues its movement demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
He said the ongoing dispute over the Election Commission reflects a deeper political crisis. The opposition must remain united not only to demand Mr. Kumar’s resignation but also to remove the government from power.
Rahul made the remarks while addressing MPs from the opposition INDIA bloc at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan in New Delhi on Friday (October 9).
He claimed that three to four days of sustained protests had shaken the government and that continued pressure from the opposition could bring further changes.
“There are much deeper problems than Gyanesh Kumar. The current government needs to be removed to resolve them,” Rahul said. He called on the opposition to continue the struggle and be prepared to make major sacrifices.
Criticising the chief election commissioner, Rahul said the Election Commission was responsible for protecting people’s voting rights. He also questioned Mr. Kumar’s position on meeting elected representatives.
