Naeem Reaches 50-Wicket Milestone

Spinner Naeem Hasan has become the tenth Bangladeshi bowler to take 50 wickets in Test cricket.

Bowling 10.5 overs in the first innings of the first Test of the two-match series against the West Indies, being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Naeem took 4 wickets for 33 runs. He reached the milestone of 50 wickets in his 16th Test.

Naeem has taken 50 wickets in the fewest deliveries among Bangladeshi spinners. In doing so, he has broken the record of another spinner, Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Naeem needed 2,856 deliveries to reach 50 wickets.

Miraz had held the record until now, taking 50 wickets in 13 Tests from 3,512 deliveries.
