Pakistan Grows Stronger Amidst Tensions With India

Amid ongoing border tensions with India, the Pakistan Air Force has officially inducted the advanced Chinese-built short-range surface-to-air missile defense system, the HQ-17AE, into its military inventory. The deployment of this sophisticated system was revealed through a special video released by Pakistan to commemorate its Defense Day. Military analysts and Chinese media reports confirm that Pakistan has become the third international buyer of the state-of-the-art defense equipment, following Serbia and Tajikistan. This strategic acquisition is viewed by experts as a major development in reshaping the South Asian military balance.

The HQ-17AE is engineered with cutting-edge technological capabilities designed to counter modern aerial threats. Built on a 6\times 6 wheeled launcher vehicle that achieves a maximum speed of 98 km/h, the system can fire missiles while moving at 25 km/h. It is equipped with an advanced phased-array radar system capable of precisely identifying and destroying drones, cruise missiles, low-flying fighter jets, and helicopters. Operating within a range of 15 to 20 kilometers and altitudes between 10 meters and 10 kilometers, the platform acts as an impenetrable protective shield.

International military experts emphasize that this acquisition fills a critical security gap for the nation. Specifically designed to intercept low-altitude drones and cruise missiles that frequently evade traditional long- and medium-range radar networks, the HQ-17AE serves as a crucial last line of defense.
