PM’s Condolences Over Earthquake in Indonesia

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed deep shock and grief over the heavy casualties and widespread destruction caused by a 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province that claimed 38 lives. On behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, the PM sent Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto a condolence message on Saturday, August 15, saying, ‘During this difficult time, Bangladesh stands by Indonesia and is prepared to provide all possible support and assistance’.
Conveying heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and those affected by the tragic disaster, the PM stated, ‘I wish a speedy recovery to the injured and hope that ongoing rescue and relief operations will bring much-needed assistance and relief to the distressed people’.
