President Urges Small Entrepreneurs to Boost Capacity and Production

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for enhancing the technical and managerial capabilities of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through skill development and policy support to strengthen the country’s overall productivity.

He made the remarks in a statement issued on Thursday (October 1) to mark National Productivity Day 2026, organized nationwide by the National Productivity Organisation (NPO) under the Ministry of Industries.

Highlighting the vital role of MSMEs alongside large industries in job creation and economic growth, the President emphasized that empowering smaller businesses is essential for building a resilient industrial foundation.
Extending greetings to workers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and professionals across the production and service sectors, he noted that optimizing limited resources, improving product quality, and reducing waste are critical for international competitiveness.

Describing this year’s theme– “Synergy of Innovation, Technology, and Skills for Productivity Growth”, as timely, President Alamgir stressed the need for innovation and technology integration amid rapidly changing global economic dynamics.

He urged coordinated efforts among government bodies, industrial leaders, workers, and academic institutions to drive MSME growth, while commending the NPO’s ongoing training and research initiatives.
The President expressed confidence that combining modern technology with a skilled workforce will help Bangladesh establish a highly productive, sustainable industrial economy.
