President Xi Jinping Congratulates Mirza Fakhrul

According to China’s state-run news agency Xinhua, Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on taking office as President of Bangladesh on Monday. Earlier, at a regular news conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian welcomed the newly elected president and expressed Beijing’s satisfaction with the political developments.

China reiterated its unwavering determination to improve diplomatic relations with Bangladesh. According to Mr. Lin Jian, Beijing is eager to cooperate in implementing the significant agreement reached by the presidents of the two nations and places a high value on fostering ties with Dhaka.

To better benefit both nations and their peoples, China also stated that it aims to develop high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, increase exchanges across a variety of sectors, and encourage the creation of a China-Bangladesh Community with a Shared Future in the new era.
