Ruhul Kabir Rizvi becomes BNP’s acting secretary general

Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, a member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee, has been chosen as the party’s acting secretary general in a quick organisational change. According to an official press statement signed by BNP Co-Office Secretary Muhammad Munir Hossain, the decision was reached in accordance with Article 7, Section B (6) of the party’s constitution and would take effect immediately.

The appointment follows significant political changes in the nation, including the election of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as Bangladesh’s 23rd president with the most votes. The BNP leadership publicly declared Mr. Rizvi’s nomination to take over as interim secretary general after the results of the presidential election were made public.
