PKSF Offers 6% Interest Loans to Boost Solar Power Generation

The Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance and the Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) have signed a Tk 500 crore agreement. The deal aims to expand the use of solar power and spread renewable energy in the country. Ms. Mosa. Nazneen Sultana, Joint Secretary, signed for the Finance Division earlier this week. Dr. A K M Nuruzzaman, Senior General Manager, signed for PKSF.
Under the agreement, PKSF will give loans to customers at 6 percent interest. It will do this through its partner organisations. PKSF has started a special programme for this work. It is called the Renewable Energy Financing Programme.
The main aim of the programme is to make it easier to pay for solar power systems. It also aims to use more renewable energy and strengthen the country’s energy security. The programme will help more individuals and organisations use solar power.
People involved believe this PKSF step will play an important role. They say it will spread eco friendly energy and increase the use of other sources to make electricity. They also say it will bring the private sector more strongly into the work and support lasting development.
