Successive Visits to China Will Take Bilateral Relations to Next Level: PA Adviser

Ismail Zabiullah, Public Administration Adviser to the Prime Minister and member of the BNP National Standing Committee, emphasized the necessity of strengthening mutual contact, trust, and cooperation to elevate Bangladesh-China friendly and strategic ties into a more welfare-oriented partnership. Speaking as the chief guest at a pre-departure reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy for a Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) delegation on Thursday, October 8, he affirmed that the delegation’s upcoming visit will reinforce bilateral relations while opening new avenues for future cooperation between both nations.

Highlighting that this represents the second PMO delegation departing for China, Mr. Zabiullah urged the delegates to look beyond formal official meetings and actively engage with Chinese officials, entrepreneurs, academics, and citizens. Advising the members, he stated, ‘You represent 180 million people. China should not be viewed solely through formal meetings; you must familiarize yourselves with their culture, institutional framework, and general public. It is essential to closely observe how China achieved such a massive economic and social transformation.’

Underlining the immense practical lessons available, the Adviser noted that Bangladesh can benefit significantly from China’s long-term planning, infrastructure development, rapid industrialization, technological advancement, and effective policy execution. Given that China accounts for nearly one-third of global manufacturing output, he pointed out that its developmental experience could play a crucial role in shaping Bangladesh’s socio-economic trajectory. Focusing on Bangladesh’s current economic and administrative transition, Mr. Zabiullah explained that China’s direct experience can be applied to diversify the national economy, enhance overall productivity, build technology-driven modern industries, and generate widespread employment opportunities for the youth. To streamline travel and commercial connectivity between the two countries, he proposed the introduction of an e-Visa system for Bangladeshi citizens while advocating for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, technology transfer, human resource development, and joint arbitration support for business communities.

Reaffirming the government’s long-term Vision, Mr.Zabiullah asserted that the current administration, under the leadership of PM Tarique Rahman, remains firmly committed to elevating ties with China to new heights through strategic foresight. He expressed confidence that these joint epmofforts will deliver far-reaching, tangible benefits for the peoples of both nations.
