Trump Admits US Weapons Shortages Due to Iran War

US President Donald Trump has acknowledged that the United States is facing shortages of weapons and ammunition due to the ongoing conflict with Iran. In an interview with Time magazine,Mr. Trump confirmed that US military ammunition stockpiles have declined. In the interview published by Time, Mr. Trump said, “Some types of ammunition are somewhat lower than others.”
A recent Pentagon report had warned of serious shortages in US weapons stockpiles and slower replenishment due to the war with Iran. Mr. Trump had previously dismissed those concerns as “fake news,” but his latest comments indicate a different position.
While acknowledging the shortages, Mr. Trump said the overall US military readiness remains very strong and that large quantities of weapons have been stockpiled over the past six months. He blamed former President Joe Biden’s administration for the shortages, saying Mr. Biden had provided large amounts of ammunition to Ukraine.
Amid the discussion over weapons shortages, Mr. Trump also renewed his threat to destroy Iran. He did not rule out the possibility of “annihilating” Iran if it does not reach an agreement to end the seven-month-long war. Mr. Trump said, “It is possible to establish peace in the world by annihilating Iran.”
