U.S. Sanctions to Ground All Iranian Airlines Worldwide: Scott Bessent

All Iranian airlines are on the verge of complete operational paralysis worldwide within the next two days under the weight of stringent U.S. sanctions, the United States warned sharply. U.S. Treasury Secretary Mr. Scott Bessent made it clear that no Iranian airline will be able to maintain normal operations anywhere in the world due to these sanctions.

‘Flight operations and service activities of all Iranian airlines will shut down globally,’ Mr. Scott Bessent stated during an interview with the American news network CNBC. Delivering a stern warning to countries still accepting Iranian flights, he added, ‘If an Iranian aircraft lands at your airport, you cannot refuel it, you cannot provide landing or ground services, and you cannot sell any of their tickets. If any country or entity disobeys this directive, they will be entirely cut off from the US dollar-based global banking and financial system.’

It is worth noting that on September 8, the U.S. imposed a new batch of sanctions on Iran’s aviation sector. The primary objective of these sanctions was to force Iran’s remaining 27 operational airlines worldwide to be grounded. This latest move by the U.S. administration leaves Tehran’s international air connectivity facing extreme uncertainty.
