US Used More Weapons in Iran Than in Vietnam War: Ghalibaf

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has claimed that the United States has used more military force against Iran than it did during the Vietnam War. He said the scale of the US attack in the ongoing conflict has been extensive. He made the remarks in a speech broadcast by Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB on Monday, August 17. His comments were reported by several media outlets, including Al Jazeera.

He said Iran must reach a “point of resistance” to avoid being caught in a continuous cycle of war and peace. He also called for stronger resistance capabilities to prepare for future conflicts. On August 1, He claimed that Iran had won the ongoing war and urged people to remain optimistic about the future.

However, there are no independently verified statistics supporting his comparison of US military force in the current conflict with the Vietnam War. The claim comes as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to rise, particularly over the Strait of Hormuz, the US naval blockade and possible further attacks.
