Cleanliness Drive Launched in Sirajganj to Reduce Dengue Risk

A cleanliness drive has been conducted in Sirajganj as part of a special government programme to prevent dengue and reduce the risk of infection.

Deputy Commissioner Md Aminul Islam inaugurated the campaign at the premises of Bijoy Smritistambha in Sirajganj town on Saturday, October 24.

Officials concerned said the drive aims to ensure cleanliness in the municipal area, destroy mosquito breeding grounds and reduce the risk of dengue.

Under the programme, emphasis was placed on removing accumulated waste from various locations, identifying places where water had collected and raising public awareness.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganapati Roy, Municipal Administrator Shahadat Hossain, Municipal Executive Officer Rafiqul Islam, municipal officials and prominent local residents were present during the campaign.
