Palestine crisis is the core issue in the Middle East: Xi Jinping

China’s President Mr. Xi Jinping has said that the Palestine crisis is the most fundamental and central issue for achieving overall peace and stability in the Middle East. He made the remarks during a bilateral meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Beijing. According to an official account of the meeting broadcast by China’s state radio and media outlets, the Chinese president stressed the need for a lasting political solution to the Middle East crisis. At the same time, he called for the stalled peace talks between Palestine and Israel to resume as soon as possible.
During the meeting, Mr. Xi Jinping said establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state as soon as possible is essential to achieving lasting peace in the Middle East. He also said China is ready to intensify diplomatic efforts with the international community to uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and restore peace in the region based on a two-state solution. Against the backdrop of ongoing political tensions in the Middle East, international analysts consider China’s position on the global stage highly significant.
