Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Observed Across Bangladesh
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was observed across Bangladesh on Wednesday with religious solemnity and enthusiasm. Jashne Julus, discussions, Milad gatherings, prayers and other religious programmes were held in Dhaka and different districts and upazilas.
In Dhaka, a colourful Jashne Julus organised by Anjuman-e-Rahmania Moinia Maizbhandaria began from Suhrawardy Udyan. Led by its president Shah Sufi Dr Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al-Hasani Maizbhandari, the procession passed through Doel Chattar, Shikkha Bhaban and the Secretariat Road before returning to the venue. An international peace rally was held afterwards, where speakers called for justice, humanity, peace and harmony by following the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In Chattogram, a traditional Jashne Julus organised by Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadia Sunnia Trust drew thousands of people from the city and surrounding areas. Led by Pir Allama Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah, the procession began near Jamia Ahmadia Sunnia Alia Madrasa in Sholoshahar and passed through Muradpur, GEC, Wasa, Lalkhan Bazar and Tigerpass before ending at the madrasa.
Similar programmes were held in Sunamganj, Satkhira and Chandpur. Discussions, Milad gatherings and prayers were organised, with speakers highlighting the Prophet’s (PBUH) life and teachings and praying for peace and prosperity in the country and the Muslim Ummah.
Various government and private institutions also arranged sermons, seminars, Quran recitation, Hamd-Naat, poetry readings and competitions. National flags were hoisted at government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, while important roads and installations were decorated with flags and banners.
The Islamic Foundation and educational and religious institutions also held programmes highlighting the Prophet’s (PBUH) teachings on peace, harmony, tolerance and humanitarian values. The day, commemorating the birth and passing of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), holds great significance for Muslims worldwide, with speakers calling for justice, equality, fraternity and humanity through adherence to his life and teachings.
