Australia, Canada, UK Condemn Israel Over for Closing WCK Attack Investigation Decision

Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom have condemned Israel’s decision not to launch a criminal investigation into the deadly attack on a World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid convoy in Gaza, calling it “shameful”. The foreign ministries of the three countries issued expressed their displeasure in a joint statement on World Humanitarian Day, saying the decision was particularly distressing and unacceptable on a day dedicated to humanitarian workers.

The statement said the seven aid workers killed in the Israeli attack in April 2024, along with their families, deserve justice and accountability. It added that the WCK attack was one of many cases of impunity in Gaza. Australia, Canada and the UK urged Israel to comply with international humanitarian law and called on Israeli authorities to take steps to protect humanitarian workers operating in Gaza.
