Bridge Approach Road over Baral River Collapses in Chatmohar

A bridge over the Baral River, which connects Chatmohar upazila center with Dolong village in Bilcholon Union, has become risky for use. The connecting roads on both sides of the bridge have collapsed, creating large potholes. Vehicles and pedestrians are currently using the bridge at their own risk.

Local residents fear that continued rain could cause the connecting road to break away completely and fall into the river. This would cut off communication between Chatmohar upazila center and Bothor village in Bilcholon Union. Both the bridge and the road section are in dangerous condition, and residents worry an accident could happen at any time.

Mr. Md. Aminul Islam, office secretary of the Chatmohar Upazila Chemists and Druggists Association and a resident of Bothor village, said both sides of the bridge have broken down and urgently need repair, as it is causing serious travel problems. Residents of Bothor and Dolong villages have demanded immediate action from the relevant authorities to repair the connecting roads on both sides of the bridge.

Chatmohar Upazila Engineer Mr. Md. Ijazul Alam said he was not aware of the issue but would look into it and take action.
