Chinese and South African Presidents Fall Ill After Attending BRICS Summit in India
Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping suffered a stroke and lost consciousness during the BRICS summit held in India, according to claims made by Mr. Wangjun Xie, Chairman of the China Democracy Party. Mr. Xie alleged that President Mr. Xi was flown back to China on a special aircraft for medical treatment. However, no official confirmation has been issued by the Chinese government, and the veracity of this claim remains unverified. Meanwhile, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has reportedly fallen ill following his return from the summit.
In a social media post, the China Democracy Party leader stated that emergency medical care was initially administered to the Chinese President in Delhi by his accompanying medical team. Shortly thereafter, the special flight departed for China. Upon arriving at the Beijing airport, Mr. Xi was transferred to a military helicopter and transported to Beijing’s 301 Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
The Democracy Party leader further claimed that President Mr. Xi declined medical treatment in Indian hospitals. According to Wangjun, this decision was driven by concerns that receiving care locally might lead to his personal health data being compromised to Indian authorities.
On the other hand, following the conclusion of the BRICS summit, the Presidency of South Africa released an official statement confirming that President Ramaphosa is currently resting on medical advice due to illness. Consequently, he will refrain from attending any public engagements, with cabinet members representing the country during this period. However, it remains unclear whether his illness manifested during his visit to India or after returning home.
