High-Level Chevron Delegation Meets with the PM

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has discussed increasing investments in Bangladesh’s energy sector with a high-level delegation from Chevron, placing special emphasis on boosting investments in the country’s older and existing gas fields as well as exploring new ones. The discussions took place on Sunday at the PM’s Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat, when a delegation led by Mr. Javier La Rosa, President of Base Assets and Emerging Markets at Chevron, paid a courtesy call on the PM.

The meeting featured deliberations on the prospects of Bangladesh’s energy sector and Chevron’s future investment plans. Views were also exchanged on maximizing production and potential from existing gas fields alongside investments in new gas field explorations. Present during the meeting were the PM’s Adviser for Finance and Planning, Mr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir; State Minister for Power and Energy, Mr. Anindya Islam Amit; Chevron Bangladesh President and Managing Director, Mr. Eric Shu, and other relevant senior officials.
