New Horizon to Open for Development of Football in Bangladesh

The registration and handover of 15 acres of land allocated by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh for the construction of a Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) technical center in Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar have been completed.

The land was formally handed over at a ceremony held at the Hotel Long Beach in Cox’s Bazar city at 12:30pm on Monday (September 7).

At the event, BFF President Tabith Awal signed the land registration documents on behalf of the BFF. On behalf of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md. Abdul Mannan signed the documents. Later, the deputy commissioner formally handed over the necessary land documents to BFF President Tabith Awal.

Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police ANM Sajedur Rahman, along with officials from various levels of the BFF and other relevant individuals, was present at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, BFtheF President Tabith Awal said 15 acres of land had been allocated under the Prime Minister’s directive for  construction of a BFF technical center in Ramu Upazila. The Cox’s Bazar district administration formally handed over the land to the BFF on behalf of the government.

He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for implementing the initiative and thanked the deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, and all individuals and organizations involved in the process.

Tabith Awal said the establishment of an international-standard football technical center in Ramu would open a new horizon for the development of football in Bangladesh. Talented footballers from different parts of the country would have opportunities to receive modern and structured training there.

He expressed hope that the technical center would help take Bangladesh football to a stronger position at the international level in the future. The center in Ramu would create opportunities for both national and international-standard training programs and play an important role in developing young footballers in the country.

Those concerned believe that the construction of the BFF technical center in Ramu, adjacent to the tourist city of Cox’s Bazar, would create new opportunities for local footballers alongside improving sports infrastructure. At the same time, football training and talent scouting activities across the country could be further expanded.
