Paving the Way for Large Companies to Enter Market Without an IPO

The ‘Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Rules, 2026’ draft was released by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) in an attempt to provide a clear framework for the entrance of fundamentally stable businesses into the capital market. At the commission’s Agargaon headquarters, BSEC Chairman Mr. Masood Khan led a stakeholder view-exchange conference that brought together representatives from listed firms, merchant banks, stock exchanges, and issue managers to improve this policy. Participants emphasized the integration of profitable enterprises while carefully protecting investor interests and maintaining overall market discipline during discussions on eligibility criteria, application conditions, and administrative procedures.
BSEC Chairman Mr. Masood Khan highlighted the initiative’s strategic objective, saying that the commission wants to broaden and deepen the market by bringing solid, respectable family-owned businesses onto the capital market through direct listing. He pointed out that this forward-thinking move would greatly increase the involvement of reputable businesses, open the door for strong domestic and foreign investment, and also increase profitable prospects for foreign investors inside the country’s economy.
