PM’s India Visit Unlikely Before UN General Assembly

The date and time of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s visit to India have not yet been finalized. In addition, the Prime Minister will attend the UN General Assembly session in New York with a message of progress for the new Bangladesh and there is a possibility of the Prime Minister meeting US President Donald Trump, said State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir. He gave this information while talking to television journalist leaders at a hotel in Sylhet on Saturday.

The State Minister said that discussions are ongoing regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to India. However, the date of the visit has not been fixed yet. There is no possibility of the Prime Minister visiting India before the UN General Assembly session. Mr. Humayun said that although there are thousands of problems with India, the path of talks is not closed. As a neighboring country, there should be good relations with India. He said that how a psychopathic corruption can be committed can be understood by looking at the energy sector. However, the Prime Minister is giving utmost importance to the energy sector. The government is working sincerely to solve the crisis in the energy sector.

Regarding the Mecca Agreement, Mr. Humayun said, “Discussions are underway on the Mecca Agreement. It is not unusual for Bangladesh to join it. Many countries are now in multiple security alliances. We will go wherever we need to go based on national interest.”

Regarding Former PM Sheikh Hasina, the State Minister said that Bangladesh will not give space to any terrorist who has escaped from India. Humayun Kabir also spoke about the power crisis in the exchange of views. He said that the power problem will be resolved soon. The Prime Minister is taking the matter with utmost seriousness. Regarding the purchase of Boeing from America, he said that no one is imposing that Boeing should be purchased. Boeing is being purchased from America because there is a demand. More will be purchased if necessary. The State Minister also said that the syndicate during the Awami League era had a negative impact on the export of labor to Malaysia. The current government has broken up this syndicate. Labor will be exported step by step.
