Saudi, Egypt, Turkey, Kuwait FMs Hold Urgent Security Talks

In a bid to de-escalate renewed geopolitical tensions and maintain regional stability in the Middle East, regional powers have intensified their diplomatic efforts. As part of these initiatives, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held telephone discussions with his counterparts from Egypt, Turkey, and Kuwait.

According to a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foreign ministers of the four nations discussed in detail the recent security developments and escalating tensions in the Middle East. The statement further noted that the officials reviewed joint efforts to contain conflict and tension in the interest of preserving regional security and stability.

Notably, as part of efforts to strengthen security across the Middle East and South Asia, top leaders from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signed the historic ‘Makkah Pact’ last month. The pact includes a commitment to build a collective defense against any external aggression.
