‘You Are the President, Not a Deranged King’ – Sanders Tells Trump

Senator Bernie Sanders has called on US President Donald Trump to end the ongoing war with Iran. He also strongly criticized Mr. Trump’s proposal to rename the strategically important Strait of Hormuz after himself.
In a message posted on social media on Wednesday, Sanders said the American people do not want the Strait of Hormuz to be renamed after Mr. Trump. Instead, they expect the president to end the war and focus on reducing the cost of living for the people. Sanders described the ongoing war against Iran as “illegal” and said it has increased fuel prices in the United States. He claimed that diesel prices have now reached $5.69 per gallon, while gasoline prices have risen to $4.12 per gallon.
Addressing Mr. Trump directly, Mr. Sanders said, “You are the president, not a deranged king. Act accordingly.” His remarks have further intensified the ongoing political debate in the United States over the war with Iran and Trump’s military policies.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mr. Trump proposed renaming the Strait of Hormuz as the “Trump Strait.” In a message on his social media platform, he claimed that the waterway is now under US control. However, questions remain over whether the United States has the authority to rename the internationally recognized strategic waterway.
