Anti-Govt Police Conspirators Identified: IGP
Less than 1% of Bangladeshi police officials are corrupt, according to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. Ali Hossain Fakir, and these dishonest people have already been arrested for conspiring against the government. Speaking on Saturday morning as the chief guest at a tree planting and cleanliness campaign at Rajarbag Police Lines School and College, he additionally addressed the problem of missing children, pointing out that although there has been a history of such incidents, they are currently being widely reported as part of a conspiracy, even though 87 percent of the missing children have already been identified.
The IGP highlighted structural and societal issues, noting that youth crime has reached a concerning level, especially in Dhaka, and that drug dealers and snatchers often avoid long-term imprisonment despite many arrests due to legal gaps. In addition, he criticized certain sensational journalists for spreading false rumors on social media and for reporting on conspiracies to put pressure on the government.
The IGP said, ‘The honor presented upon you today is not merely an award; it is recognition of your merit and hard work, a testimony to our faith in your future, and a symbol of our trust in your potential,’ as they continued to a scholarship distribution ceremony for children of police officers who scored GPA-5 in the 2024 and 2025 SSC, HSC, and equivalent examinations. He stressed that while intelligence propels advancement, genuine excellence requires morality, humanism, and honesty.
He advised the kids to utilize technology rather than let it dominate them, warning them about the negative effects of excessive use of mobile phones, social media, and online games. He also warned that digital addiction is just as dangerous as drug addiction. A total of 2,113 deserving students were awarded scholarships in 2024 and 2025, including 801 SSC and 272 HSC recipients in 2024 and 845 SSC and 195 HSC recipients in 2025. At the event, 360 students from Dhaka got formal awards.
