Mufti Mahbubullah Stands by the Distressed People of Nepal

Life in Nepal has been seriously harmed by devastating floods and unexpected natural calamities, which have destroyed homes, covered villages in mud, and left people in deep sadness over lost lives. Shaykh Mufti Mahbubullah Qasemi, Chairman of the Al-Mumin Social Welfare Foundation under Khanqah Hussainia Madania of Mymensingh, has come to Nepal to directly support the distressed people in the face of this critical situation. In order to provide targeted humanitarian initiatives, he is carefully evaluating ground-level requirements while interacting closely with local experts, regular residents, and impacted families.

Relief delivery into the disaster areas is still very difficult because of the damaged infrastructure, blocked roads, and ongoing mudslides that restrict access. On August 31, the charity launched a targeted aid distribution campaign despite these severe geographic obstacles, successfully providing food packs, clean drinking water, clothing, and medicine to nearly 200 affected people. Local reports describe a concerning scenario in the Trishuli region, where several mosques and madrasas have sustained major structural damage from mud and flooding. The humanitarian catastrophe has particularly impacted disadvantaged minority Muslim households.

The Al-Mumin Social Welfare Foundation is actively evaluating long-term rehabilitation needs to assist victims in rebuilding their destroyed homes and livelihoods. Acknowledging the huge scale of the devastation, the organization has urgently asked kindhearted people and capable donors throughout the globe to provide essential support for food security, clean water, medical treatment, and temporary housing. The foundation aims to enable Nepal’s disaster-affected communities to overcome the catastrophe and gradually restart normal lives via collective and ongoing support.
