Chinese Ambassador Invites Shama Obaid to Lead Women Entrepreneurs Delegation

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Shama Obaid Islam. The courtesy call took place on Monday, September 14. During the meeting, the State Minister recalled the PM’s successful visit to China and expressed gratitude for China’s continued support for Bangladesh’s development, particularly in infrastructure development, human resource development, and capacity building.
Ambassador Mr. Yao Wen reaffirmed China’s commitment as a trusted partner and friend of Bangladesh, and highlighted the significant progress achieved in bilateral relations in recent years. Both sides exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest and cooperation. These include the Bangladesh-China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, Chinese Economic Zones, the development of Mongla Port, the proposed 1,000-bed hospital in Rangpur, education and human resource development, people-to-people connectivity, energy sector cooperation including renewable energy, and women’s empowerment.
The Ambassador invited the State Minister to lead a delegation of Bangladeshi women entrepreneurs on a visit to China at a convenient time. The State Minister accepted the invitation and thanked him for the initiative.
