Mirza Fakhrul receives guard of honour on his first working day at Bangabhaban

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir arrived at Bangabhaban around 11:00 a.m. on his first working day to undertake official responsibilities. According to personal official Yunus Ali, he was welcomed in accordance with state etiquette upon his arrival and given a Guard of Honour by a contingent of the President Guard Regiment (PGR). After that, he went inside his office and started working as usual.

Acting Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal delivered the oath to him earlier at Bangabhaban’s Durbar Hall. Acting President Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed formally turned over the position to him during the swearing-in ceremony. The day following his swearing-in, he honoured the valiant Great Liberation War heroes at the National Memorial to kick off his state activities.
